ANNOUNCEMENT:

North Tyneside Council presents

Mouth of the Tyne Festival 2016

with

Ronnie Spector Sings the Fabulous Ronettes, Friday 17th June

The Temperance Movement, Thursday 7th July

Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Saturday 9th July

We are delighted to announce three sensational shows at the PLAYHOUSE for this summer’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival, presented by North Tyneside Council!

The sublime Ronnie Spector launches the entire festival with Ronnie Spector Sings the Fabulous Ronettes on Friday the 17th of June. Ronnie and her American band will perform all the Ronettes hits – “Be My Baby,” “Baby I Love You,” “Do I Love You,” “Walking in the Rain,” and more – as well as  songs originally recorded by the group that became successful for other artists, such as “I Can Hear Music” (Beach Boys) and “Chapel of Love” (Dixie Cups). Tickets are priced at £32.50 and £29.50.

Next, The Temperance Movement will take to the PLAYHOUSE stage on Thursday the 7th of July. Based in London and Glasgow, the five-piece band features front man Phil Campbell, bassist Nick Fyffe, guitarists Paul Sayer and Matt White, and drummer Damon Wilson. 2012's five-track Pride EP introduced them to the world, and their debut studio album, 2014’s The Temperance Movement announced the arrival of a major rock band. Their new album, White Bear, is their giant step forward. Tickets are priced at £16.50.

Finally, on Saturday the 9th of July, we will revel in the return of the fantastic Frank Turner to the PLAYHOUSE, supported on stage by The Sleeping Souls, that most supple, dexterous and punishing of permanent backing bands. If fifth album, Tape Deck Heart, released in 2013, was a catharsis of licked-wounds, not to mention the sting of raw and recent personal failure, then last year’s Positive Songs For Negative People is the sound of a man putting his show back on the road. Tickets are priced at £26.

We expect demand to be exceptionally high, so BOOK EARLY to avoid dreadful disappointment!

Tickets will go on sale online at www.playhousewhitleybay.co.uk at 9 am Friday 15th April. Tickets will be available via the booking hotline 0844 248 1588* and venue Box Office from 10 am.
