Returning for a third year, Bay Tales Live is an all-day event featuring some of the biggest and best crime and mystery authors, appearing in panels to talk about their work and influences, reveal details of their latest books and dedicate copies (available on the day from onsite bookshop, the bound).

This year’s line-up features:

Ann Cleeves in Conversation:

Ann Cleeves Bay Tales’s patron, author of Vera, Shetland, and the Two Rivers has chosen her special guest for 2024’s show:

Emma Flint Author of Little Deaths - nominated for the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger Award - and Other Women, a BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick for 2023.

Moderated by Tim Rideout, PhD, one of our favourite facilitators.

C L Miller The Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder will be published Feb 2024 and is set to be one of the biggest cozy crime releases of the year.

Alice Feeney New York Times million-copy bestselling author of titles including Rock Paper Scissors (coming to TV from the producer of The Crown),  Daisy Darker and her sixth novel Good Bad Girl.

Moderated by CM Ewan Author of The House Hunt,  A Window Breaks and, fittingly for his role in 2024, The Interview joins us once again - this time asking the questions!

Val will be in conversation with our special guest interviewer Steph McGovern (Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch).
