1 Year Since Playhouse closed because of COVID

Posted on 16 March 2021

Today marks one year since theatres and indoor live event venues officially closed their doors, as part of government guidelines to help combat the spread of Covid-19.
Our ghost light was then turned on (traditionally left on stage to light up a theatre in times of darkness). As we move closer to the return of live music, comedy and performance, the staff at Playhouse Whitley Bay would like to thank everyone for their support during these extraordinary times, and as always, the amazing NHS staff and keyworkers for their incredible work. We would also like to offer our sincere condolences to anyone who has been affected by Covid-19.
