‘Here at the Playhouse we were shocked and saddened to hear the sad news of Steve Harley’s passing, age 73, after a brave fight against cancer. He had postponed all live performances for this year whilst under treatment but was focused on getting back out on the road in 2025 to do what he did best; engaging, beguiling and entertaining audiences with his music and stories. Personally, I had been lucky enough to work with Steve on many shows over the last 30 years and always found him to be a warm, funny and generous human being, who also just happened to be a phenomenal song-writer an performer. He’ll be very sadly missed and our sincere condolences go out to his family and all of those close to him. RIP The Cockney Rebel'.
