Rufus Wainwright presented by North Tyneside Council as part of the Mouth of the Tyne Festival

EVENT INFORMATION

  • Date: Wednesday 8th July
  • Time: 7.30 pm

Affectionately referred to by Elton John as “the greatest songwriter on the planet” and praised by the New York Times for his “genuine originality,” Rufus Wainwright is set to play the PLAYHOUSE on Wednesday 8th July, as part of this years Mouth of The Tyne festival.

Rufus has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. The son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and the brother of singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright, Rufus has achieved his success by carving out his own singular sound in the worlds of rock, opera, theater, dance, and film.

With the tour following the release of Vibrate: The Best Of Rufus Wainwright, audiences can expect music drawn from his wildly eclectic career, including all of the fan favourites.  Bear witness to this incredible artist and don’t miss a momentous experience to see this solo show.
