"True Identikit Brilliance" - The Stage
BARRY STEELE puts the rock back into "Roy Orbison" in his first visit to the PLAYHOUSE in his own show as he takes to the stage to celebrate Roy Orbison's 75th birthday accompanied by his 5 piece band. With an upbeat and contemporary slant on Roy Orbison's legacy, Barry will take you on a musical journey from the early Sun year's right through to the late 1980's.
Barry Steele has toured extensively across the UK, Denmark, New Zealand, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He performed as Roy Orbison to rave reviews in the hit show "Rockin on Heavens Door," before leaving in April 2009 to concentrate on his own show. He has been described by the stage newspaper as "Brilliant" and the Wanganui Chronicle in New Zealand stated "Barry Steele has a range to match the master."
With full support from Barry's fabulous show band, who will perform a stunning array of iconic hits from the 50's & 60's, and appearances from our special guest, with his stunning tribute to Billy Fury.
Stop Press***** New addition to the show at the PLAYHOUSE is BBC1's Worlds Greatest Elvis finalist Steve Halliday as Gi Elvis!!
