"Folk music doesn't get any cooler than Kate Rusby" - Q magazine
The defining voice of contemporary English Folk Music, Kate Rusby will be returning to the PLAYHOUSE in April 2011, one year after a sell out performance in Whitley Bay.
Her exquisite interpretations of Traditional songs and finely wrought self-penned tunes have won her an audience that reaches beyond the genre, seen as a rare achievement for a folk artist but entirely understandable given Rusby's expressive vocals that invest whatever she sings with irresistible emotional depth.
Accompanied by her all-new band, Rusby will be performing songs from Make The Light together with much loved favourites chosen from across her entire back catalogue. Rusby's wondrous singing, her hugely engaging Yorkshire wit and her new ensemble's marvelously intuitive support ensure that audiences will be treated to a truly remarkable and uplifting concert experience.
