The PLAYHOUSE will host a selection of entertaining events during July and August as part of the Summer Holidays Season! From a packed PLAYHOUSE Playtime schedule to adventure and songs on stage, we’re sure there’ll be something for the young ones and the whole family to enjoy!

Firstly, on Friday the 22nd of July 2016, we host Laura Prince’s Creative Dance Workshop (5-9 years); a creative/contemporary dance workshop based on the theme of ‘Circus’. Children will work creatively with the choreographer to explore and experiment with movement ideas, working independently, in pairs and in small groups to create a dance piece, which will be performed in front of friends and family at the end of the workshop. No prior experience in dance is required – just 100% enthusiasm and concentration!

Then, on Tuesday the 26th of July, join Mister Twister for a fast paced morning of fun and laughter with The Mister Twister Magic Show! Not only will you see an amazing magic show and balloon modelling but there will also be music, comedy and party games for everyone. Plus, every child leaves with a specially made Mister Twister balloon!

From Thursday the 4th to Saturday the 6th of August, join us for a timeless classic: The Pied Piper! This thrilling adventure, enhanced by a truly magical musical score, follows Peter’s attempts to rid Hamelin of its rats! What breathtaking adventures lie in store? Will everyone live happily ever after? Don’t miss ABD Productions’ latest offering!

On Wednesday the 10th of August, the PLAYHOUSE welcomes Stage Tynemouth with their Drama Workshop (5-9 years). Pupils will explore the 4 elements of characterisation and discover improvisation techniques, building on transferable skills in a fun and encouraging environment! This is a chance for children to make new friends, try something different, learn new skills and build on existing ones!

Mister Twister returns on Tuesday the 16th of August with Mister Twister’s Balloon Workshop! The workshop is entertaining and enlightening, allowing children of all ages to learn new skills, build confidence and participate in a relaxed environment...and everyone gets to take their balloon creations home with them!

On Tuesday the 23rd of August, promote the confidence and creativity of your children by signing them up for Circurama’s lively, enjoyable and entertaining Circus Skills Workshop (5-9 years)! After an amusing introduction, followed by ice-breaker games, your kids will be taught the art of juggling, practice plate-spinning, twirl Chinese ribbons, and more! The workshop ends with a performance celebrating the achievements of the day!

Finally, on Thursday the 25th of August, we welcome back Marty MacDonald in Marty MacDonald’s Toy Machine! Everyone at Marty MacDonald’s Farm is delighted with the special delivery that’s arrived – the Toy Machine that makes all of the toys in the world! But then they realise that Crafty the Crow has been up to mischief and it shouldn’t really be there at all…Worse still, the machine has stopped working, so they need to fix it before the Toymaker comes to get it back! Join Marty, Sally the Scarecrow, Pongo the Pig, Molly-Moo the Cow and Sheena the Sheep in a fun, musical, interactive adventure to repair the Toy Machine, save the day and give the world back its toys!
