PLAYHOUSE Seeking Charity for Christmas Pantomime

Posted on 24 August 2017

Blue Genie Entertainment, producers of the hugely popular pantomime at the PLAYHOUSE in Whitley Bay, are looking for a local charity to support during the run of this year’s pantomime, Cinderella.

Producer Gary Telfer said: ‘Last year we were able to support the local charity Out Of Sight; we held collections at the end of each show. Together with the local people of Whitley Bay, we were able to raise over £5000 for the charity. It would be great if we could beat that figure this year and raise even more for a local charity in North Tyneside. We will be holding collections at the end of each show, and this year we are even holding two special shows on the 9th and 10th of December at 4:30, where children can have their picture taken with Cinderella in her coach for a small charitable donation.

Having broken all box office records for a ninth year, Blue Genie Entertainment return to the PLAYHOUSE with a fantastic all new production of Cinderella starring Ray Quinn as Prince Charming alongside PLAYHOUSE favourite Steve Walls, who returns for the 8th year.

Theatre Director Phil Smith said: ‘It’s great that we can support the local community and give them something back. To support a local charity in this way seems a perfect way to help raise funds for a small charity that wouldn't normally get this sort of aid.’

PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay and Blue Genie Entertainment would like to hear from all local registered charities that would like to be considered for their support this year. They are encouraging all North Tyneside registered organisations to write into the PLAYHOUSE and give a brief explanation as to how they would benefit from the support of this year's collection. Blue Genie Entertainment and the PLAYHOUSE will select one charity to support this year on the 30th of October, so please do get your information in as quick as possible.
