PLAYHOUSE Pantomime Producers Seek Local Charity to Support

Blue Genie Entertainment, producers of the hugely popular pantomime at the PLAYHOUSE in Whitley Bay, are looking for a local charity to support during the run of this year’s show, Aladdin.

Producer Gary Telfer said: “Last year we were able to support local charity The Ellen Timney Foundation through holding collections at the end of each show. Together with the people of Whitley Bay, we were able to raise over £3000 for the charity. It would be great if we could beat that figure this year and raise even more for another charity in North Tyneside.”

Having broken all box office records, Blue Genie Entertainment return to the PLAYHOUSE from the 5th of December 2016 to the 2nd of January 2017 with a fantastic all new production of Aladdin, starring Boyzone legend Shane Lynch alongside PLAYHOUSE favourite Steve Walls.

Theatre Director Phil Smith said: “It’s great that we can support the local community and give them something back. This is a really good way to help raise funds for a small local charity that wouldn't normally get this sort of help.”

PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay and Blue Genie Entertainment would like to hear from all local charities wishing to be considered for their support this year. They are encouraging the organisations to write to the PLAYHOUSE and give a brief explanation as to why they think their charity would benefit from the support of this year’s collection.

Blue Genie Entertainment and the PLAYHOUSE will select a charity to support on the 7th of November, so please do get your information in as soon as possible.
