BREAKING NEWS: Bob Geldof in Concert... Now on sale!
The PLAYHOUSE in partnership with North Tyneside Council is extremely excited to announce the future performance of Sir Bob Geldof in Concert in May 2012 at the PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay.
Bob rose to prominence as the lead singer of Irish Rock band The Boomtown Rats in the late 1970's and early 1980's alongside the punk rock movement. He is also well known for his writing, acting and his passion for politics.
Along with U2's Bono, he has devoted much time since 2000 to campaigning for debt relief for developing countries. His commitments in this field, including the organization of the Live 8 concerts, kept Geldof from producing any more musical output since 2001's Sex, Age & Death album.
The Marketing Executive here at the PLAYHOUSE said: "It's a real coup for SMG Newcastle to be bringing international artist, Bob Geldof to the PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay in May 2012 and relects our commitment to bringing a diverse programme of events to the region. From feedback we have already received, we know Bob Geldof has a strong fanbase in the region and therefore expect a high demand for tickets and encourage everyone to book as soon as possible."
Tickets are available to book in person from the PLAYHOUSE Box Office or by calling 0844 277 2771 or by booking online.
