The much anticipated Indian restaurant is now open, the restaurant offers a sophisticated cuisine in a friendly and elegant surroundings, the bright and cheerful interior encourages a lifting of spirits that bodes well for the enjoyment of a meal that draws upon tradition linked with a modern twist.

The restaurant is owned by Mr. Miah who has been in the hospitality trade for over three decades running some of the most successful Indian restaurants in and around the north east of England. Some of Mr Miah’s restaurants include Valley Connection (Jesmond) , Tandoori Nights est. 1989 (Newcastle)

The menu is diverse and never falls to surprise and delight its discerning clienteles, the menu consists of a profusion of homemade style cooking to regional dishes.

The Fire Station

The Fire Station

The Fire Station entrance is on Whitley Road and is within easy walking distance from The Playhouse making it ideal for pre or post theatre meal and drinks. Located on the main high street in Whitley Bay, we are next to the towns’ shops, hotels and sea front. Located near local bus routes and only a few minutes walk from Whitley Bay metro station make us an easily accessable venue.

As the name suggests we are a converted Fire Station and after opening in 2001 we are the place to visit whether you are after a great cup of Lavazza coffee, a wide range of drinks or something from our extensive menu. We have a large heated beer garden and families are welcome to dine until 9pm.

In partnership with the Playhouse we are pleased to offer you 20% off our main or grill meals on production of your ticket on the day of the show.

Bays Bistro

Situated on Park View, Bay's Bistro is within easy walking distance of the Playhouse making it ideal for a pre- theatre dinner. We are also only a short walk from the beach and the town's many hotels, shops and pubs.

Warm colours give the restaurant a comfortable, relaxed feel which helps to attract a wide range of clientele. The informal bar area is popular with customers for pre dinner drinks and complimentary olives.

Since our launch in November 1998 we have gained a reputation offering great quality food prepared by our team of chefs. Our menu is British with worldwide influences and combines ingredients from the continent and the Mediterranean with a modern style of Bistro cooking. Wherever possible we use seasonal produce from local suppliers.
