The cast of Day8 Productions will bare all as the curtain calls at the Whitley Bay Playhouse, in an adaptation of a classic 1990s Sheffield film.
Six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, deciding they have nothing to lose, come together in a desperate act to raise money to get themselves out of debt and to make amends with those they love. Taking heed of the success of the male Chippendale strippers, their bold plan is to take to the stage as a new male strip group but with a unique selling point – the Full Monty.
Battling with personal frustrations about relationships, unemployment, self-image and sexual orientation, the story interweaves humour with a meaningful, and at times, moving tale of friendship and laddish camaraderie.
Main character Jerry makes for the likely bachelor going through a separation but determined to hang on to his child support responsibilities, while the lovable Dave is insecure about his weight, his marriage and has recently lost his job.
As advised by Day8 Productions, The Full Monty contains nudity and swearing. 16+ only.
