Tynemouth Gilbert & Sullivan Society present 'Yeomen of the Guard'
Tynemouth G&S return for a third year to the new Playhouse with a show for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.
The Yeomen of the Guard is the most powerful and unique of all of the Gilbert and Sullivan Shows, with a more dramatic atmosphere, and some of their most sophisticated music to tell a tale of the 16th century. There’s a condemned man in the Tower of London, a jester, and a young woman trapped between the two of them. But before it gets too dark, there’s still plenty of light moments, and all the usual Gilbert and Sullivan touches.
